1.3 — released 2026-10-26
- Stilo now has a read-only mode. Turn on Read-Only in the More menu of the editor to read a document without changing it. No need to switch to the preview. You can still select, copy and search text while it is on. It applies only while the document is open and turns off when you close it.
- Fixed an issue where files in read-only locations could still be changed from the toolbar or with Replace.
1.2 — released 2026-10-13
- Stilo now supports iPhone Duo. On the outer display, and on the inner display in landscape, the toolbar runs down the side of the screen. With the inner display half open, Split view divides the editor and the preview along the fold.
- Tap the quill in the file browser to open Repository Access, Settings or About Stilo. The Repository Access button has moved here.
- Split view now draws a line between the editor and the preview.
1.1 — released 2026-09-26
- Added Repository Access (sold separately, one-time purchase). Open the Markdown in your GitHub repositories as it is, edit it, and save with a commit message. If a file changed elsewhere first, Stilo tells you instead of overwriting it, and files you have opened before can still be edited offline. It is not a Git client; it is focused on writing the manuscripts that live in your repository. More about Repository Access
- The preview now renders tables, strikethrough, checklists and footnotes. They used to show as the raw markup. HTML and PDF export follow the same rendering.
1.0 — released 2026-09-22
- The first release. Editing, preview, find and replace, reading and writing files, character and word counts, and HTML export are free.
- Stilo Pro (one-time purchase) adds vertical writing with upright short numbers, ruby rendering, page counts and targets, PDF export, themes, and imported fonts.
